LAS VEGAS — Organizers of the annual Agent Summit have announced that Paul D. Metrey, an executive and attorney with the National Automobile Dealers Association, will discuss emerging challenges relating to the sale of F&I products and NADA’s upcoming guidance on the subject at this year’s event. Agent Summit 2019 is scheduled for May 19–22 at the Venetian & Palazzo Resort Hotel Casinos in Las Vegas.
“Our hat is off to Paul and to NADA for bringing this important topic to the Agent Summit agenda, particularly at a time when this guidance will be relatively fresh and subject to lengthy and quite likely pitched discussions surrounding its release,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom. “It is useful, targeted content for our agenda, and I know our attendees will make our speaker feel welcome and appreciated.”
Metrey has been with NADA since 2001 and currently serves as vice president of regulatory affairs and chief counsel for financial services, privacy, and tax matters. He is the author of the association’s Fair Credit Compliance Policy & Program, which was released in cooperation with the National Association of Minority Automotive Dealers and the American International Automobile Dealers Association.
“As attacks directed at voluntary protection products continue to increase, it is important that persons involved in providing, financing, and retailing these products reexamine their procedures to ensure they are being offered to consumers in a transparent and professional manner,” said Metrey.
Metrey’s presentation, “Voluntary Protection Products: An Approach to Strengthening Compliance,” coincides with the upcoming release of the new, optional NADA-NAMAD-AIADA Model Dealership Voluntary Protection Products Policy, which is expected to offer guidance for agents, dealers, and any other party involved in the pricing and sale of F&I products.
“I am really happy that Paul Metrey will be joining us to speak about emerging challenges to ‘Voluntary Protection Products’ and bring forward the ongoing, behind-the-scenes efforts that could interfere with our business,” said Randy Crisorio, advisory board chair and UDS’s president and CEO. “Anyone in the F&I space needs to attend.”
