Design Awards Honor a Mass-Market Model
Kia car wins best-of-the-best competition alongside luxury sportscars.

Red Dot competition says the Stinger is 'luxuriously appointed, supremely comfortable and gracefully designed.'

Kia’s Stinger sports sedan won a prestigious international design award shoulder to shoulder with Ferrari and McLaren.
The vehicle was one of three to win the Red Dot Best of the Best honor recently in Mulheim, Germany.
After members of an international jury drove nominated vehicles on an airport runway, they chose the Stinger, along with the 720S by McLaren and the Ferrari Portofino.
The Red Dot event called the Stinger “inspired by the spirit of historic grand tourers … luxuriously appointed, supremely comfortable and gracefully designed.”
“It confidently exudes an air of elegance and athleticism and convinces with classic gran turismo proportions: a long bonnet and short front overhang, an extended wheelbase and muscular rear shoulders. The five-seat interior with a steeply-raked windscreen pampers the passengers with ample space and luxurious equipment.”
The Red Dot Design Award competition has recognized product, industrial, brand and communication design since the 1950s.
