Vietnamese automaker VinFast now has a dealer in Florida in what’s a growing number of U.S. stores for the brand.

Auto group Holman opened the South Florida dealership in Fort Lauderdale.

VinFast signed agreements this past spring with a dozen new U.S. dealers, saying at the time that the contracts increased its total number of dealers here to 18 among California, Connecticut, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, New York, North Carolina and Texas, the biggest concentration in California, which it says had 15 VinFast stores.

“As we continue to explore opportunities to further diversify the brands we represent, we’re thrilled to welcome VinFast to our Holman family of dealerships,” said Holman’s Executive Vice President of Retail Automotive Frank Carbone in a press release. “We look forward to introducing VinFast’s exciting lineup of electric vehicles to customers throughout the region.”

VinFast in the fourth quarter of last year switched from the direct-to-consumer model used by electric-vehicle market leader Tesla to a hybrid system and is now building out a dealership network in the U.S. and other international markets. It announced its first Middle Eastern store this week in Oman.

When it announced the 12 new U.S. dealers, VinFast said it planned to increase development of auto factories in the U.S. and other countries. It's scheduled to start production at one in North Carolina in 2028.
