Honda said it has gotten no reports of crashes or injuries but had received nearly 700 warranty claims related to the issue.

Honda recalled nearly 300,000 SUVs and cars that can experience engine stalling or power loss.
The extensive recall affects 2022 to 2025 Type S Acura MDX SUVs; 2023 to 2025 Honda Pilots; and 2021 to 2025 Type S Acura TLX cars.
The problem stems from incorrect programming of the fuel-injection electronic control unit.
According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, sudden throttle opening in certain driving conditions could make the malfunction indicator light illuminate and/or the engine lose drive power, hesitate or stall.
Honda said it had gotten no reports of crashes or injuries but had received nearly 700 warranty claims related to the issue. It estimates that just 1% of the vehicle population has the problem.
Dealers will reprogram the fuel-injection electronic control unit software. Honda is scheduled to mail recall notices to owners on March 17.
