Service Volume Up in June

Thee Repair Order Volume Index went up to 90.1, a 1.3% increase from May.

A recent Cox Automotive analysis of Xtime metrics revealed service activity increased again at U.S. franchised dealerships in June, but service revenue decreased slightly for the second consecutive month.

Year-over-year comparisons, however, show that the Repair Order Volume Index was down and the Repair Order Revenue Index up.

The performance of the service department is showcased over time by the monthly Xtime volume and revenue metrics, indexed to January 2019. The top two measures give an insight into how service department performs at franchised dealerships in the U.S.

In June, the Repair Order Volume Index rose to 90.1, a 1.3% increase from May's revised number but a 2% year-over-year decrease.

June's Repair Order Revenue Index declined 1.3% from the upwardly revised May reading to 131.8 but was up 4.3% year-over-year. However, the average revenue generated per repair order decreased by $7 from the revised record high set in April.
