Agent Summit to Conduct Compensation Survey

LAS VEGAS — Organizers of Agent Summit 2013 have announced the launch of an ambitious survey of agency compensation plans. The survey will be sent to agency principals who register for the conference by February 28 and the results will be distributed only to those who participate.

The survey was designed to share agents’ ideas on the subject as they search for the best plan to effect quality hiring, retention and performance. Randy Crisorio, president and CEO of United Development Systems Inc. and chairman of the Agent Summit advisory board, said the survey will be “blind,” guaranteeing anonymity to participants and leaving them free to describe their compensation plans in detail.

With the right level of participation, Crisorio believes the results will be a watershed for the agent segment. “Most of us started as individual agents and then built our companies by hiring people who can sign dealers,” he said. “When you’re in that transition phase, it’s difficult to form a compensation plan that attracts top talent and is affordable.”

The compensation survey also will record participating agents’ location, number of years in business and whether they have a website. Lastly, all attendees will have the opportunity to submit nominations for a “Provider Innovator of the Year” award. Nominees can include any product or service directly related to automotive F&I operations that hit the market in 2012 or the first quarter of 2013.

The third annual Agent Summit will be held March 4–6, 2013, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. For information about exhibition and sponsorship opportunities, contact David Gesualdo via email hidden; JavaScript is required
