Honda Motor Co. has “revamped its hybrid system” and plans to launch 15 next-generation hybrid models by the end of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2030.
The automaker said the reallocation of resources is in response to the “growing global demand for hybrid vehicles” and is in line with the company’s announcement earlier this year to rebuild its business.
Global rollout of the new Honda Hybrid lineup will begin next year.
The new hybrid system builds on the original Honda two-motor hybrid system to expand the “high-efficiency operating range of the engine” and improve the “efficiency and downsizing of the drive unit,” the Japanese automaker said.
The next-gen models will also have “optimized rigidity and weight reduction” to improve road-holding performance.
New features include a Motion Management System, original Honda integrated control technology, and a newly developed electric all-wheel-drive system.
