Lunt to Deliver Opening Keynote at Compliance Summit Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS — Organizers of Compliance Summit have announced that attorney and compliance expert Aaron Lunt will deliver the opening keynote address at the inaugural Las Vegas event. The conference will be held Aug. 29–30, 2016, at Paris Las Vegas, as part of Industry Summit.
“Aaron is an engaging, informed speaker and an expert on the effect of regulatory pressure on the sale of F&I products,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Auto Dealer Today and F&I and Showroom. “We are counting on a stirring and informative presentation.”
Asked to preview his presentation, Lunt listed a number of hot-button topics facing dealers, agents and product providers in a rapidly shifting compliance landscape.
“The motor vehicle service contract industry is under incredible pressure with the emergence of new technologies, distribution channels, and product features. However, I believe the most significant pressure is being applied through increased compliance and regulation,” said Lunt, who serves as assistant general counsel and head of regulatory affairs for The Warranty Group. “While state regulation has been commonplace for decades, the emergence of new players — such as various state attorneys general — are injecting increasing influence.
“Additionally, federal regulators have become incredibly active in influencing the inner workings of the F&I office and financing agreements — with more, not less, regulation on the horizon,” Lunt added. “It remains to be seen how the election of a new president in November will affect this evolution.”
Registration for Compliance Summit Las Vegas is open at the event’s website. Attendees are welcome to take part in the rest of Industry Summit, and those who register by July 29 will enjoy a $100 discount. Attendees are also invited to sit for the Certified Automotive Compliance Specialist exam for no additional charge.
