voestalpine Metal Forming to Open Manufacturing Plant in Georgia

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — According to a report in The Marietta Daily Journal, an Austrian-based automotive industry supplier plans to build a manufacturing facility in Bartow County here, creating 220 jobs and investing $62 million. The company, voestalpine Metal Forming, under its auto-body parts unit, plans to open the facility in July 2013.

“We are just really excited about the possibility of these folks relocating here,” said Cartersville-Bartow County Joint Development Authority Chairman James Jarrett. “They’re an excellent company.”

voestalpine’s Metal Forming Division, and specifically its auto-body parts unit, provides the automotive industry and suppliers with pressed parts in the body-in-white segment, as well as innovative structural components. The company said its customers represent several of the leading manufacturers in the automotive and automotive supply industries.

“As a supplying partner to the automotive industry, we have a very high commitment to quality to both innovative products and smooth supply chains,” said AG Herbert Eibensteiner, CEO of voestalpine Metal Forming.
