Cain Toyota and Cain BMW Dealerships in North Canton, Ohio, were recently sold to Five Star Automotive Group.

Tim Lamb, president of the Tim Lamb Group, a North American auto dealership sales and acquisitions firm, brokered the sale, which closed on April 26 between owners David and Brian Cain and Five Star Automotive Group. Cain Toyota is now known as Toyota of North Canton, and Cain BMW has been renamed BMW of North Canton.

The two facilities sit side-by-side on approximately 10 acres. The 20,102-square-foot BMW store includes a 13,092-square-foot showroom and second-story office space, as well as 7,010 square feet for parts and service. The 40,862-square-foot Toyota store includes 11,946 square feet for showroom and administration offices, along with 28,916 square feet dedicated to parts and service. The Toyota location is one of its highest expected sales dealerships in Ohio. Both BMW and Toyota of North Canton continue to offer a wide selection of new, used, and certified preowned vehicles.

“It was a hard decision for us to make, but we felt that the time was right for us to sell,” said David Cain, dealer principal for Cain Motors.

“Choosing Tim Lamb to represent us with this transaction was an easy decision and just felt right from our initial conversation all the way through closing,” said Brian Cain, dealer-operator for Cain Motors. “We were committed to our customers and our staff who have been the cornerstone of our history since 1981; making Cain the oldest owned BMW and Toyota dealers in Ohio. We want to thank all of our employees, clients, and vendors as it’s been a pleasure working with you over the past 42 years.”

Five Star Automotive Group is a family-owned company headquartered in Atlanta, with locations in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina, Indiana and Ohio, and in business since 1986. The purchase of the two dealerships marks Five Star Automotive’s 32nd rooftop location, its fifth dealership in Ohio, third Toyota dealership, second BMW dealership, and 11th dealership purchased from Tim Lamb Group.

In more recent years, the Toyota brand has become one of the most sought-after franchises in the industry, ranking first in Interbrand’s 2022 most valuable automotive brands. Toyota North Canton is the seventh Toyota dealership that the Tim Lamb Group has brokered in the past year.
