The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, or ASE, is hosting a free webinar for service technicians at 4 p.m. EST Jan. 16. In “OBDII Data - Reading Between the Lines," technical trainer Rick Escalambre will uncover the mysteries of running monitor tests.
While attempting to verify a repair, the power control module can't verify success if a monitor test doesn't run. The systematic approach presented in the webinar is designed to help the technician identify the correct enable criteria, address MODE $06, and demonstrate the variables to complete monitor tests.
Participants will learn to work smarter, not harder by reviewing data parameter identification before starting the vehicle and to develop an educated answer rather than excuses or stories when monitor tests won't run or take longer than expected.
They will receive an emailed certificate of attendance within a week of the webinar.
After registering, a confirmation email will be sent containing information about joining the webinar. Those who are unsure if they can attend are encouraged to register, as they will receive a follow-up email with details on how to attend a recorded session, if available.
For more information or to register, visit ASE's website.
